Dian Sousa, author of LULLABIES FOR
THE SPOOKED AND COOL (Mille Grazie Press 2005) and the forthcoming THE MARVELS
RECORDED IN MY PRIVATE CLOSET, teaches surfing at Camp Swell, which she co-founded;
she also started San Luis Obispo's Code Pink Women for Peace chapter, and Bottled
Poetry, which combines music, food, & poetry readings at various
wineries. DianÕs awards include third in the Cal Poly Writing Contest (1985),
256th in
the 1997 San Luis
Obispo Triathlon, and fourth in the 2002 Women On Waves Contest in Santa Cruz.

nila northSun, author of A SNAKE IN
HER MOUTH (West End Press 1996) has a
new book in press, LOVE
AT GUNPOINT (R.L. Crow 2006). Born in Shurz, Nevada of Chippewa-Shoshone descent,
nilaÕs work is found in collections of Native American poetry. Her features
include the Watershed Festival in 2003 and the Taos Poetry Circus in 1997. In 2000, the University of Nevada
recognized her accomplishments by awarding her ŅThe Silver Pen.Ó nila lives on the Shoshone-Paiute reservation in
Fallon where she works for the tribe as a program and grant writing specialist.
