LIB V01 Using Library of 21^st Century (71506)

This is an eight-week class meeting over the internet starting 10/19/09 to 12/14/09.

Orientation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. If you cannot attend this meeting, you will need to contact the instructor at psezzi@vcccd.edu.

Hello Students,

Welcome to your online course. For this course section you will be participating in an online pilot project. The course will be offered in a new Learning Management System called Desire-2-Learn. You are the first group to see this new environment and we welcome your feedback. (There will be opportunities to submit comments/suggestions to the Distance Education program staff throughout the semester.)

Step 1

To get started you will need your Student ID 900# and WebSTAR PIN

**A note, Social Security Numbers will not be accepted in place of the 900#

To find your 900# go to WebSTAR at http://webstar.vcccd.edu

Log in (if you have trouble logging in call helpdesk at 805-652-7777, and on the Main Menu at the top of the page is a link to Student Services.

Click this link, then click on Student Records.

Next Click on General Student Record at the bottom of the list.

On the right side of the screen near the top of the page you will see your 900# listed along side your name.

Step 2

Once you have the 900# and your PIN, you will want to log in to the Desire-2-Learn site using the link below.

Click the following link to access the log in page. http://vcccd.desire2learn.com

Step 3

On the left side of the screen you will see a place to enter your login ID and password. If for any reason this does not work with your Student ID 900# and WebSTAR PIN, please contact your instructor they can reset the password from within the course.

Step 4

Once you have logged in, your instructor will be your first contact for support in the online course.

The instructor contact information is listed in the profile on the first page of the course in the Desire-2-Learn website.
