Most mathematics courses have prerequisites (other courses that must be completed before taking a particular course). To help students plan their schedules, the mathematics department has devised the following chart, which indicates how courses are linked in terms of their prerequisites. The department may waive prerequisites for students achieving sufficiently high scores on assessment tests.
Students need not necessarily take courses in the order shown by the arrows. For example, a student may complete calculus courses (Math V21A, V21B, and/or V21C), then take statistics (Math V44) afterward. However, all prerequisites for a given course must be completed before a student may enroll.

“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” —Alexander Graham Bell
