Eligibility

Admission to Ventura College is open to any high school graduate, anyone possessing a high school proficiency certificate, or any adult 18 years of age or older.  High school students in good standing can request Advanced Placement to a community college.  See your high school counselor.    Exceptions are considered by petition for special admissions programs noted elsewhere. High school graduates under 18 years of age shall provide an official transcript verifying their graduation or its equivalent. Students entering any of the public community colleges of California are subject to the residency requirements as determined by the state of California.

A student who is a resident of another state may be admitted under conditions stipulated by the governing board and on payment of nonresident tuition, enrollment and health fees. A student who is a citizen and resident of another country (international student) may be admitted under conditions stipulated by the governing board and on payment of an application processing fee, nonresident tuition and foreign student surcharge, enrollment and health fees.

Admissions Procedures

Students who are enrolling for the first time or who have not completed a credit class at Ventura College within the last 3 years may need to complete an application for admission; check with the Admissions Office. Application forms may be obtained at the college Admission Office, or by writing to Ventura College, 4667 Telegraph Road, Ventura, CA 93003, or by telephoning the Admissions Office as (805)654-6457 or the college at 654-6400 or 986-5855. New students should submit completed application forms to the Admissions Office at the earliest possible date preceding the beginning or the semester for which admission is desired, and consult the catalog and schedule of classes regarding the Ventura College "Plan for Success" matriculation program.

Students who wish to enroll in Ventura College must have transcripts of all previous high school, college or university coursework on file at the college. Admission to the college and to special programs may be conditional upon receipt of transcripts. These transcripts should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions at Ventura College from the institutions previously attended. Further information is provided under transcript requirements.
