Introduction

The Division of Industry and Technology provides technical training to students desiring the completion of Associate of Science Degrees (2-year programs), Certificates of Achievement (e.g. 1-year programs) and/or Certificates of Completion (1-2 semesters).  The Division also provides customized training for industry at large, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Machining and Word Processing.  All of our programs are listed on the menu at the left side of the screen.  For specific information on each program's curriculum and other features, please visit the respective web page.  One of the newest programs being developed by our Division is a Computer Repair Program that will be designed to provide short-term training to students desiring immediate entry into the PC labor market or for individuals interested in enhancing their PC troubleshooting survival skills.  The program should be implemented starting in the Spring, 1999 semester.

Demand Occupation Training

Ventura College is committed to providing training that leads to gainful employment.  For example, our Machining Program maintains the largest instructional shop in this part of the state.  Machining is a booming industry in Ventura county.  Students who successfully complete our training programs are being placed in jobs immediately.  One of the newest programs being developed by our Division is a Computer Repair Program that will be designed to provide short term training to students desiring immediate entry into the PC labor market or for individuals interested in enhancing their PC troubleshooting survival skills.  The program should be implemented starting in the Spring, 1999 semester.

Partnership with Agencies & Organizations

Our Division office works closely with various agencies and organizations to ensure that we maintain a strong bond with the community service network in our community.  We have staff in place to assist JTPA students, Calworks students, Workforce Development students, Private Rehabilitation clients, and individual referrals from other agencies at large.  Agencies charged with dispensing subsidized training are assessed a special processing fee for customized services.  Please call Beatriz Herrera (805) 654-6484 for more information.  For additional information, contact our Division office.
