Born in Southport, England, Joe moved to the United States in 1982 with his Family. Joe landed in Ventura and attended school in locally; he graduated from Buena High School in 1993 and he is currently attending Ventura College. Joe played four years of varsity soccer at Buena High School from 1989-1993 helping the school advance to the CIF playoffs each season. As a youth player, Joe represented Southern California Youth Soccer Association as an Olympic development player traveling to Mexico, Colorado, and a host of other states. Joe was a member of the Ventura Arsenal Youth Soccer Club for 10 years and won the CYSA South State Championships in 1987-1989. The highlight of Hoffman’s youth playing career was his tryouts with 3 professional soccer clubs in England. Missing the warm California weather, Joe decided to return to the US in 1995 and kicked football for our very own VC Pirates. Hoffman is currently working toward a degree in Physical Education at VC.

In 1994, Joe attained his National ‘C’ Coaching License and returned to the coaching schools again in 2000 to attend the United States Soccer federation National ‘B’ Coaching school. As well as coaching at Ventura College, Joe has coached at a wide variety of youth levels. He is currently the director of coaching for the Ventura Millennium Soccer Club. Joey’s has coached high school soccer at Agoura High School and Rio Mesa High School where he led the Lady Spartans to their first league championship in 15 years. In the 2000 season Joey was the Assistant Coach for Buena High School Varsity Team that won its second CIF State championship. Joey has been an ODP state and District Staff Coach for CYSA South and is currently working with the Southern California United Youth Soccer Club coaching an U17 boy’s team. Joey is a member of the United States Soccer Federation soccer coaches association and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Soccer coaches association. The 2000 season will be Joey’s fourth at Ventura College and as in the past he will bring not only a wealth of coaching and playing experience but also a rare love and passion for the game of Soccer. Joey is most definitely one of the top young coaches in the nation with a wealth of knowledge far beyond his age.
