Steve is entering his third year as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach here at Ventura College. The last two seasons he has assisted in winning two Conference championships and two post season berths to the Southern California Playoffs.

Steve has coached soccer successfully for the last 16 years at various levels. He currently holds a USSF “D” License and has coached all three of his children at some point in their careers. All his children have gone on to play collegiate soccer, and his son Bryan is now playing professionally in the USL.

Coach Monka was nominated for Cal South “Coach of the Year” in 2000. Steve played Professional Baseball in South America after his collegiate career at Cal State Northridge where he participated in the Division 1 College World Series. On various youth teams he was very successful on the following teams: American Legion World Series Champions, CIF High School Champions, Colt Baseball World Champions, and Pony Baseball World Series Finalist.

When not on the Soccer Field, Steve is Partner/ President of Cal-Palm Growers, Inc., the largest growers of Kentia Palms for interior use in the United States.

Steve and his wife Becky reside in Camarillo, California.
