Hello, my name is Steve Hoffman and I am the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Ventura College. I would like to take a few minutes of your time to pass on some information about Ventura College Community College and why it makes sense for you to start your college education at this school. This is a very exciting year at Ventura College because it will not only be our eleventh anniversary; we will also be playing our home games on our newly renovated home field! The college is the process of renovating our athletic facilities to include a state of the art 3,000 seat soccer faculties. This facility will be one of the most prestigious, not only in California but in the Country! See a picture of the Lady Pirates new home at the Ventura College Sports Complex Page. In the meantime, below you will find some of the most important reasons that you should consider while deciding your future in college:

  • Affordability. The cost per unit at Ventura College is $26.00. At public universities, each unit could cost as much as $600. The total cost of tuition at Ventura College is around $350 per semester compared to $5,000 to $20,000 at some universities. If you are an Out of State/Out of Area Student-Athlete please look at our Out of State? page to get all of the info you need.
  • Quality of Education. Classes at Ventura College have approximately 25 to 35 students. This enables you to get to know your professor, as they will be more available to help you with your studies. At universities there could be anywhere from 200-400 students in each class. Most of these classes are being taught by teacher’s assistants who work for professors and are working toward masters degrees. VC classes are taught by professors whom have obtained at least a Masters degree.
