    Will you bring a poster? Yes or No or Don't Know Yet? (You can decide later. If you do plan on bring a poster try to contact Paul Van Zuyle, before the conference. If you want to, you can just show up with the poster, but we may not have the best spot for it.)
If you would like lunch, please register by 5pm Tuesday, Nov. 18.
If you don't need lunch, you can register through Nov. 18 or just register on site on the 21st..

Directions: Once you get to campus see map above.
From Ventura or farther north: Hwy 101 South to Hwy 126 East. Go east on Hwy 126 until the Victoria Ave exit (first exit!).  Left over freeway on Victoria until major light at Telegraph Road.  Left on Telegraph.  Ventura College will be on your right side after the 3rd light.
From Oxnard or farther south: Hwy 101 North to the Victoria Ave exit (2nd exit after the Santa Clara River Bridge).  Right on Victoria continue for a few miles until major light at Telegraph Road.  Left on Telegraph.  Ventura College will be on your right side after the 3rd light.

8:00 - 8:45  Registration (Ventura College Science Building) (Registration will continue through the day).

(Special Ocean Explorer Program Teachers will meet after registration at 8:20 in room SCI 116)

8:45 - 10:00  Welcome & Keynote (SCI 222)
    Featured Speaker: Adena Schutzberg - Topic “What Will Web Services Mean to GIS?”
Principal of ABS Consulting Group, Inc., a GIS consulting firm providing services to clients including the Open GIS Consortium and GIS software and imagery companies. She is editor of the widely read weekly electronic newsletter, GIS Monitor, published by Professional Surveyor Magazine.

10:00 - 12:30 Breakout Sessions: GIS Application Examples (SCI 116, SCI 222, SCI 221)
Presentations by GIS users from around the Tri-County area. (see detailed Schedule, TBA)

12:30 - 1:30 Lunch (Science building loading dock, around the corner from SCI 116)
Free for pre-registrants (see top of this page).

10:00 - 4:00 Vendor Exhibits (SCI 113 and SCI 119)
Vendors can begin to set up at 8am. GIS Day Participants are encouraged to visit exhibits all through the day.

1:30 - 2:30 Poster Session (Breezeway between SCI 119 and Loading Dock.) Judging until 3:00, awards at 3:30.
Poster presentations with maps that show how GIS is used to manage parks, map oil pipelines, do city planning, and the like. (Posters will be up all day until 3:45)

2:00-5:00 Special Activity: NSF Ocean Explorers program (GIS computer Lab, SCI 113)
This will be an opportunity for teachers to take part in an exiting program using GIS in the exploration of our local Marine Resources. This workshop will be conducted by Julie Bursek at the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and by Steve Moore of the Center for Image Processing Education.
