Registration (includes free lunch): Registration
for 2006 is Now Walk-in without any guarantee of lunch. I did
order some extra lunches and there may be some no-shows. You can just show
up on Friday, though if you send an email to gisday@vcccd.edu we
may be able to make you a nametag and put you on a waiting list for extra lunch
spots. Include the following information in your message:
Name, Company/Organization, Address, Phone, Email
Want lunch? Yes or No
Will you bring a poster? Yes or No or Don't
Know Yet? (You can decide later. If you do plan on bring a poster you can
just show up with the poster and we'll try to find a spot for it.)
If you would like lunch, please register by 5pm Tuesday, Nov. 14.
If you don't need lunch, you can register through noon Nov. 16 or just register
on site on the 17th..

Directions: Once you get to campus see map above.
From Ventura or farther north: Hwy 101 South to Hwy 126 East.
Go east on Hwy 126 until the Victoria Ave exit (first exit!). Left
over freeway on Victoria until major light at Telegraph Road. Left
on Telegraph. Ventura College will be on your right side after the
3rd light.
From Oxnard or farther south: Hwy 101 North to the Victoria
Ave exit (2nd exit after the Santa Clara River Bridge). Right on
Victoria continue for a few miles until major light at Telegraph Road.
Left on Telegraph. Ventura College will be on your right side after

Topic “GIS State of the State”
Michael is a GIS manager for the State of California Office of Statewide Health
Planning and Development. He is also serving as the Chair of the California GIS
Council. He will discuss what it takes to have a successful GIS implementation,
how OSHPD
got to have an enterprise GIS, some policy accomplishments, and what's
possible--and
what's not--at the state level in support of local GIS.

Vendors can begin to set up at 8am. GIS Day Participants are encouraged to visit
exhibits all through the day.
10:00 - 12:00 Breakout Sessions: GIS Application Examples (SCI 116,

12:00 - 12:45 Lunch (Science building loading dock, around the corner

12:45 - 1:15 Poster Session (Breezeway between SCI 119 and Loading
Dock.) Judging until 2:45, awards at 3:15.
Poster presentations with maps that show how GIS is used to manage parks,
map oil pipelines, do city planning, and the like. (Posters will be up all
day until 3:30)
